Happy Valentine’s Day !!!

Happy Valentine’s Day to all my new friends here on WordPress. It has been a wonderful experience so far (more like saving my sanity experience) .In last year, there were  two things missing from my life. Some friends and creativity.  So on my 30th birthday I did something which I have never done before. I got drunk real hard(yup……real bad) and blurted out my light bulb idea. and that’s how Cookplayneat born.

Few days ago, my little sister of wordpress, Nimmi from https://feelingsoulmate.wordpress.com/ nominated me for the Sisterhood Award. I was so glad when she called me Didi (elder sister) in one of our first conversation.

I am taking a little liberty to thank my dearest Cousin brother Keyur from https://keeppicturing.wordpress.com/ who helped me from the day I thought about this blog. He is a wonderful blogger himself. I love his photographs because they are still pictures but still full of emotions.

one more thing on spreading love this Valentine’s day. I was planning to add a link for blogs I love on my sidebar. I should have done it when I was taking the blogging course ,cause now I have to go to my cousin for the help. But here is my first Blog Of The Month , Sonni from http://mynameisjamie.net/ .Her Blog is about a person who is jail. She transcribe his letters and write the posts. And if you get chance to read one of the posts you will understand how much she means to that person. In her posts you will find unconditional love.

Rules:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site
  2. Put the award logo on your blog
  3. Answer the ten questions they’ve sent you
  4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer
  5. Nominate ten people

Here are the answers of the questions Nimmi asked me :

1) Have you ever danced in the rain?

Yes…………  Well I don’t know if you know that I was a professional dancer. Bharatnatyam (Indian classical dance) and         folk dancer. And used to travel to different countries for performances. So many time we had to perform Rain or shine !!!

2) Ugly and live forever, or attractive and die in a year?

I always wish to die healthy ,don’t want to rely on others for my needs.I don’t mind being ugly as I grow. But Healthy in a year I would say.

3)Do you sweat on small staffs?

Oh yes ….. and very much want to give up that habit. It just brings more stress. Plus having 2 kids in the house is always    causing troubles.

4) Do you believe in miracles? If yes, then why?

I believe this whole world is a miracle. No matter how much further science has gone. No one can tell the source of all         the energy. But I truly believe that if you want miracles to happen in your life you have to dream for it and work for it.

5) What have you always wanted? Did you ever get it?

I always wanted to have kids. Did I get it? Yes and no. I always wanted a daughter. So NO. But after having two lovely          boys it doesn’t bother me much.

6) If you could wake up tomorrow in the body of someone else, who would you pick and what would you do?

My kids or any kids. And do what we can do as adults ….ha ha ha !!!

7) What Cheers you up?

Well this is a tough one. Cause I am very easy to please. But good food, kids around me and dance.

8) What is the weirdest thing about you? Are you proud of it?

I am obsessed about history. I always feel I should have been born at least 150-200 years ago. I always keep reading          books settled in the past. Yes I am proud of my obsession.

9) You can select one person from history and have them truthfully answer one question, who would you select and what is    the question?

My own history or the whole world history. If it’s the whole world history than It would be Hitler. And I would ask him               WHY?

10) Which cartoon character do you resemble the most?

Well this is the easiest. I love cartoons. Even when I didn’t had kids watching cartoon was part of my routine …..

I am a Donald Duck. One of my little cousin used to call me that.

    • As I mentioned in the post I was really missing friends whom I can relate. And I miss my dance terribly. But since started blogging I am my happy self again. Now I am not scared of forgetting my dance. I am confident that things you love and learned passionately is not going anywhere.
Frankly I got 5 other nominations in last month. But I hardly get chance to finish my recipe posts. And when I started blogging I promised myself that I will not cut down time for my kids.
      Love
      Didi.

  2. This is going to make me think. Some of the questions I have the answers right off the bat, but some I want to think about. And I also have to think of my ten questions and people to pass this on to. It narrows the choices some because it says sisterhood. and I will also want to check out the choices of the people you nominated, because there is reason you chose them, so I will pick a couple each day and go and see what they are all about.

This is one of the most fun parts of blogging. I don’t know if you know I was at another blogging place for the first 6 months when I started. It was called Blog.com. I think it was a good place at one time and they lost interest in it but didn’t tell any new people. I did manage to teach myself quite a bit but they didn’t have a community, a forum or any kind of customer service. It was impossible to ask a question and get a return answer. You could put in a claim but it was pretty worthless. When I checked on some of places they said were the best blogs I realized nothing was newer than 2 years and most of the blogs were dead. Then they would go down a lot and my blog would disappear for up to 5 days. The first time it happened I cried because I thought I had lost everything I had written. Now I write elsewhere and have a record and copy and paste it into my blog, just in case I need a back up.

So I searched and found wordpress. But I couldn’t get the information I needed to move my blog so I had to transfer all my posts one at a time and set everything up again. This whole process took a couple months so I couldn’t write much. When I moved a post I lost all paragraphs or indentations. But still, I had no idea there was a community. I was so busy setting things up I didn’t take notice of the reader. I went out on the web to like-minded organizations and different writings from people also interested in my topic and one by one brought them to my blog. Then I started to learn about social media. It has been a really good learning process.

In the meantime I found people I really cared about. Not everyone has the dream to be an author who publishes books, but that does not mean they don’t have something to say you can benefit from. This blog is the blog I am writing my book from and it gets intense at times. http://watchandwhirl.com is where I can write about everything else and also share the blogs of people I really like. I can also help people who are still getting started. This has been a wonderful experience in my life that is happening right at the time I needed it the most.

Tomorrow I will answer your questions and get to work on passing the love. Have a great night and thank you again!

  3. Thank you so much for telling me about your blogging journey. I have also started my blog on the other site. But as I mentioned in the post my cousin was a big help. And he is a good critic too. He helped me set lot of things.
It is quite a work to do the award post. But I guess it’s OK if you only find less than 10 people to nominate.
Would like to read your answers.
    Good night

  4. My ten answers to your questions. My apologies for taking so long. Life got in the way. I am going to use the blog http://mynameisjamie.net instead of http://watchandwhirl.com

1.Why am i blogging? I started the blog to categorize the issues people have to deal with when locked up the US prisons. This was to write the book i have started about Jamie Cumming, “InsideOut,” hoping to be done by July 2016.

2.How did I choose the name “My Name is Jamie, Life in Prison.” That was going to be the name of the book, but I’ve decide to use it as line under the title.

    3. What is my favorite food? That’s tough one because I LOVE food. But if i were on an island and only could have one food it would be a mango.

    4. One place I would want to travel alone? Mt Fuji in Japan

    5. Do I read and what kind of books? I love to read and especially enjoy science fiction. The possibilities of different worlds.

    6. Am I a perfectionist? About certain things. When I am heavily involved with what I’m doing I am quite OCD about it, but I can still let the clothes pile up to be washed and dishes leave dishes in the sink.

    7. What would you prefer more ,Indoors or Outdoors ? Depends on the season. In the winter I am a complete hermit. The rest of the year I work in my garden.

8.One thing you are not doing right now in your life, But miss doing? Riding my bicycle. For ten years in Key West my bicycle was my transportation. Now living in Pa, it’s not practical to use it for transportation. All I can do is ride it a little around the community I live in – when weather permits.

9.Are you a fashionista or wear whatever your mind and body tells you ? lol definitely not a fashionista. I dress for comfort and warmth and it usually mismatched sweaters and probably jammi bottoms.

1o.Your remedy for a real bad day ? When I get done screaming and kicking the walls? ( just kidding)., but I do have a pretty bad temper…..As a Buddhist, I park myself in front of my Gohonson and chant. Chant to raise my life condition so that the things that happened “to” me becomes a lesson about myself I needed to learn, and that is – to not react to it and then go on and tackle my day.

And now I will think of ten questions to put out and get them out tomorrow.

    • Wow ,interesting answers. Thank you so much to take time for this.
It is so interesting to know about different people. I have read in your posts that you used to live in Key west. We were living in Miami for 3 years. And I had a bike with child seat. I also miss that a lot.

      • No I have to come up with my own questions. Knowing me, they will be doozies. How do I put the award emblem on my bog. I see others people that have them.

  5. I have my ten questions ready. Should I send them to you or do you want to read them? I’m still not sure how to get the award on my site, or the right way to ask people. i must have missed the post on how to do that. Shouldn’t I have the actual award so they can get it onto their own site?

    • This is how it works.
You have to do a new post about award on your blog.
Something similar to my happy valentines day post. Just check the rules on that. You can copy and paste the rules and and the award picture from my post.
Then list the nominee. It’s OK if you don’t have 10 of them. And write your questions.
So people can see it on your blog.
It is a bit of a work.

      • thanks. I have to do this, though on http;//watchandwhirl.com blog, not Jamie’s blog, because the subject matter is to narrow. It’s really more appropriate for that blog anyway. I don’t advertize jamie’s site as a blog and it goes out to too many places not in the blog world. Is that okay with you? I will mention why I’m posting there instead, though.
